FIREAL

GRUNGE / METAL / ROCK

"One would have to question the difference between the bands? As far as the artists go, I'd like to think the most important thing here is the music. The one thing that hasn't changed here."

After almost twelve years of existance, the members of Bleak decided to quit the band on February, 2009 and continue to other projects. Soon after the former Bleak frontman and songwriter Caleb informed a new line-up and a new name for a band that had arose from the ashes of Bleak; Flamer was born. Later on Flamer changed their name to Fireal.
"The very first Bleak (1997-2000) was completely different to the second Bleak that regrouped in 2002. It had a different line-up and the songwriting process was completely different - and yet, we continued with the same name", the vocalist, Caleb talks about his history with Bleak on their official MySpace.
He states out that to him Bleak represented a band that had argued for 12 years and still hadn't figured out its inner differences. "We were so different from each other - the only thing that kept us together, was the love for the music."
The familiar "flamey" logo still gives the band its identification. "Flamer as a new band name, represents a new beginning, a new chance for the music with new members and new, better inner structure", he continues.
Fireal picks up where Bleak left off, the band will also play some of the output of Bleak written by Caleb. Their upcoming album Molotov Cocktails contains music written for Bleak's second album and also more recent material. You can see Flamer live at Helldone Festival in December with bands such as HIM and The 69 Eyes.
